Tracey:
Could you help me? I have my first Lunch and Learn this week! What do you recommend saying and doing? Fun ideas?I am going into a very small business that already has 5-6 people interested in a boot camp after work. I am going in for a Lunch and Learn to talk to the rest of the employees about who I am and what I do. This is my first Lunch and Learn! What creative ideas do you have to make it fun, informative, etc?

Hey Denise,
I would have them do a few things such as arm circles for 5 min while you are talking and tell them that they can not drop their arms (of course make sure no one has shoulder issues and let them off the hook) and this is just to demonstrate how such a simple move can hurt so much and while they are doing this start your talk. I would tell them who you are and why you do what you do and them instead of listing all of your services, tell them about how it will effect them, what is in it for them and how they will feel after doing your class. This will get them emotionally involved and that is what will sell them on your program. Hope this helps and let me know how it goes

Having other Trainers

Hiya Tracey
I've spoken with you before and your advise is fabulous. I'm would really appreciate your advise on the following
I now have 7 camps up and running and pay the coaches 50 % of their camp. I took this advise from you but I'm wondering how much more you do for them. I have been supplying their workouts and equipment and market through promotions and website. All campers pay online through the website. Do you do as much as this? I'm just wondering because the equipment can add up in cost, dumbells cost a fortune over here.
I had a look at your site and notice that you do a 3 month and 12 month option. I think this is something that we are seriously missing from our camps. How do you work out your long term contract payments and are they very popular. I'm obviously interested in them because it gives you guaranteed income. Also love your single mom and student discounts.
I've so much to learn and learn fast, any info would be gratefully appreciated Tracey.
thanks
julie

Hey Julie,
I am glad that you like my info, I love to help. I do everything that you do but the only equipment that I give them is 4 cones, a bag, first aid kit, playing cards, dice. All other equipment that they want to add, they have to purchase. All of my workouts can be done with just what I have given them. I have gone in detail on this on our free site www.bootcampowner.com in my interview. It will be up next week. When someone pays for the 3 or 12 months, I only pay the trainer their amount each month. I break it down to what the cost is each month and that is what they get paid 1/2 of. I do this because if for some reason they where to leave me I do not want to have to try to get money out of them. I do get alot on both. Very worth it. Hope this helps

Hey Dyna,
You have a great business name... I love it. Here is my feedback that can help your camps:
1. You really need to have a way to capture the lookers emails. These are people that you got to your site and you want to be able to reach them again. So have something on the first page that you can give away in exchange for their email and name. VERY IMPORTANT... I use http://tinyurl.com/3nqt74
2. For your blog and photos, I would make them open up in a "new Page" so that the people can stay on your site. Right now they are taken away from your main site to those pages.
3. You need to have "keywords" put in the title bar. When you log into your site, right now you just see "home page" in the blue bar at the top of your screen. You need to have key words placed there so that the search engines will find your site when someone in your area searchs for boot camps.
Hope this helps
Bootcamps for School kids

Hey there Tracey.
Hope you are doing ok.
Tracey, please can I ask you a huge favour – please can you give me a few ideas:-
I have been asked to do a Bootcamp at a children’s school on Thursday for about 50 – 60 children aged around 12 – 15. They are all pretty fit, as it is the whole
Athletic team.
I am a little bit stressed as to the number of the group, and would really appreciate a few ideas from you , if you do not mind – I am very happy to pay you for your
Time and input…. It is going to be a kind of a trial session, and so I would really like to make sure that everything runs smoothly…..
Much appreciated – you are still my super hero.
Kind regards,
Gill.

Hey Gill,
What an opportunity for you... I am very excited for you. The few key things that I would do is #1 make it FUN and #2 make it FUN.. Since you have so many at one time, I would do it on a TIMED session. What I mean is each exercises do for the 1 minute so that each person can go at there own pace. I know you have my ebook and exercises so I would do something like the "Circuit 4 Life". It will hit all the body parts and is fast paced but you will have control over everyone since they stay on their mats or towels. To make it FUN I would have them do some cadence calls with you or where they have to yell out certain things to you at certain times. For the warm up have them do Jumping jacks spelling out their school and mascot for fun. Make some of the kids be up front to demonstrate and do the exercises and then switch them out. Hope this helps MAKE THEM LAUGH

Hi Tracey,
I downloaded the book Sure Results: The Ultimate Book of Boot Camp Workouts. I am starting a boot camp in a few weeks here in Northern Virginia. I have been skimming the book for ideas and looked at two of your workouts, Capture the Cone and The Commando Workout. Could you please explain the following exercises:
1. Bird Dog
2. Up and Overs
3. Stir the Pot
Thank you.

Hey Arleen,
I am excited for you to be starting your first class. It is an amazing business. Here are the descriptions:
1. Bird Dog - while on hands and knees, they take the opposite arm and leg and stick it out straight and hold the position or have them bring them in and out.
2. Up and Overs - they sit on their butt with their hands behind them for balance. They will put their legs straight out and I have them put their water bottle by their ankles and they will put both feet to one side. They then lift their legs up and over the water bottle from side to side.
3. Stir the Pot- They are laying on their backs like getting ready to do a regular crunch. They pretend they have a huge pot on their stomach and they bring their shoulders up and stir one way for 30 sec and then the other. So it is like a constant half crunch.
4. Prisoner Squat - they put their hands behind their heads and they do the squats. It helps them stay in form on the squat.
Have a great day
Tracey
